How to connect the Vendd MCP server to Claude

Add Vendd as a custom connector in Claude with the URL https://mcp.vendd.app, authorize access in your account and edit your sites by chatting.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants use tools from other services. With the Vendd MCP connector, Claude can list your sites, build pages, change text and adjust the design right from the chat, always within the permissions of your account.

Before you start

Have a Vendd account with at least one site created in the dashboard. The connector works on the sites and pages that already exist in your account: to build a new page, create it in the dashboard first and then ask Claude to fill it in.
Have a Claude account. Custom connectors work on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On the Free plan, the limit is one custom connector.
If you are a collaborator in a company on Vendd, you need permission to edit sites in that company.

Note

On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, only organization Owners can add custom connectors. If that is your case, see Teams and organizations.

Add the Vendd connector

Open Claude (opens in a new tab) in your browser or the Claude Desktop app.
Go to Customize > Connectors. In Claude Desktop, Customize is in the sidebar.
Click + Add and choose Add custom connector. On some accounts the path is Add > Custom > Web.
Fill in the fields:
- Name: Vendd
- URL: https://mcp.vendd.app
Click Continue. Claude detects on its own that Vendd uses OAuth sign-in. When reviewing the authentication settings, choose Sign in now and Use Claude's published identity (Recommended), and leave the request headers empty.
Click Add.

Important

Do not enter an API key, client ID, client secret or headers. Vendd does not use any of them: access is always authorized in your own account. If your Claude form shows Advanced settings, leave those fields empty.

Authorize access in your Vendd account

When you connect, Claude opens the Vendd sign-in screen. In Claude Desktop, it opens in your browser. The Vendd authorization screen is currently in Portuguese, so the labels below include a translation.

Sign in with the email and password of your Vendd account.
Under Empresa que o app poderá acessar (company the app can access), choose the company that owns the sites you want to edit.
Under Permissões solicitadas (requested permissions), keep the Sites permission turned on. Without it, Claude can see the Vendd tools but cannot use any of them.
Click Autorizar acesso (authorize access).

You are taken back to Claude, and Vendd shows as connected in your list of connectors. From then on, it is also available in the Claude apps for iPhone and Android with the same account.

Turn on Vendd in a chat and test it

Start a new chat in Claude.
Click the + button in the lower left of the message box, hover over Connectors and turn on Vendd.
Send the message: List my Vendd sites

If everything is set up correctly, Claude replies with the sites in your account. The first time it uses a Vendd tool, it may ask for your permission: you choose whether to allow it just once or always.

Tip

To decide tool by tool, open Customize > Connectors, click Vendd and choose Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked for each one.

What you can ask for

The connector gives Claude the Vendd site and page tools: list sites and pages, inspect and review a page, search for text across the whole site, build an entire page, rewrite sections, change text and images, change colors and styles, and edit the menu and footer. A few requests to get started:

Build the Financial Consulting page on the My Consulting site as a landing page to capture leads.
Review the home page of the My Consulting site and point out contrast and hierarchy issues.
Change the title of the first section of the Contact page to "Talk to us".
Find which pages of the site show the old phone number and replace it with the new one.
Add a link to the Plans page in the site menu.

Important

The connector does not publish anything. Changes are saved as a draft in the Vendd editor: check the result in the editor and click Publicar (publish) when everything looks right.

Security and permissions

Claude sees and does only what your account can do in the Vendd dashboard, in the company you chose when authorizing.
The connector does not publish sites and does not delete sites or pages. It changes and removes content inside pages, always in the draft.
You do not share a password or API key with Claude. Access is granted on the Vendd authorization screen and can be revoked at any time.

Teams and organizations

On Claude's Team and Enterprise plans, an organization Owner adds the connector once for everyone:

In Organization settings > Connectors, click Add, hover over Custom and choose Web.
Enter the name Vendd and the URL https://mcp.vendd.app, click Continue and then Add.

Then each person opens Customize > Connectors, finds Vendd (marked Custom) and clicks Connect to sign in to their own Vendd account. Each person sees only the data of their own account.

Common problems

What happens	How to fix it
Vendd does not show up under Connectors in the chat	Check that the connector was added in Customize > Connectors and that it shows as connected.
Authorization error (Authorization with the MCP server failed) or a new sign-in request	In Customize > Connectors, disconnect Vendd and connect it again.
Claude says it lacks permission to use the tool	The Sites permission was turned off during authorization. In the Vendd dashboard, open Settings > Connected apps, click Manage permissions next to Claude, turn on Sites and click Save permissions.
The list of sites comes back empty	The account has no site yet. Create the site in the Vendd dashboard and ask again.
A site that exists in the dashboard does not appear	You authorized a different company. Disconnect, connect again and choose the right company on the authorization screen.
Claude cannot reach the server (Couldn't reach the MCP server)	Check that the URL is exactly `https://mcp.vendd.app`. If it is correct, try again in a few minutes.

If the problem persists, contact the Vendd team.

How to disconnect

In Claude: in Customize > Connectors, open Vendd and disconnect it. To take the connector off the list, use the three-dot menu and click Remove.
In Vendd: in the dashboard, open Settings > Connected apps and click Disconnect next to Claude. Access ends immediately.
